ThunderFish®
ThunderFish® reduces the need for vessel time and auxiliary ROV deployments as it combines both AUV and ROV capabilities into a single platform. It can operate as a subsea resident, perform hovering maneuvers for inspection, and carry significant payload for long-range survey missions.
The ThunderFish® AUV is equipped with Kraken’s state-of-the-art sensors and components, including:
- Kraken’s AquaPix® MINSAS sonar
- Kraken’s AquaPix® Multispectral SAS
- Kraken’s SeaVision® 3D Laser-Imaging
- Kraken’s SeaThrust™ main propulsion and manoeuvring thrusters
- Kraken’s SeaPower™ pressure tolerant batteries
Other sensors include a forward looking sonar, a multi-beam echo sounder, sub-bottom profilers, magnetometers, and advanced navigation/positioning sensors.
The ThunderFish® is equipped with high bandwidth wireless communications, and a variety of emergency recovery mechanisms and fault response systems.
