We are seeking a Electronics Technologist/Technician to join our development team. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment and be interested in contributing to the direction of future Kraken products.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology, or other Technical Diploma with experience.
  • Electronics assembly and troubleshooting experience
  • Assembly and testing of wiring harnesses
  • Experience in the installation and connection methods of electrical equipment
  • Demonstrated technical skills along with a proven track record for success.
  • Experience with quality assurance and quality control procedures (QA & QC)
  • Create and maintain electrical and electronic drawings
  • Review PCB schematics and board layouts, PCB assembly drawings and provide input into new product designs.
  • Experience in use and maintenance of electronic test equipment
  • Experience in the use of inventory systems
  • Experience in digital and analog circuit design
  • Experience with microcontrollers and microprocessors
  • Software programming experience (embedded C or C++)
  • Strong written and oral communications skills (technical reporting and engineering documentation)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment
  • High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Appreciation of other engineering disciplines (mechanical and software)
  • Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:
    •     Experience installing and operating electronics equipment in an ocean environment
    •     Experience with sonar systems and acoustic signal processing
    •     Experience testing and troubleshooting software systems
    •     Experience in a shop environment, specifically with hand tools
    •     Experience in through hole and surface mount soldering
    •     Familiarity with proper shop safety practices

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our development team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years of object-oriented software development experience
  • Experience with C++ software development on Windows or Linux, preferably both
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Subversion
  • Excellent design standards and strong debugging skills
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team environment
  • High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:
    • C# and XAML GUI development
    • Digital signal processing, especially in an ocean environment
    • Experience with sonar systems and acoustic signal processing
    • Appreciation of other engineering disciplines (Hardware, Digital and Analog Electronics)
    • Familiarity with data communications protocols and general networking experience
